For sale here is a rather scarce Gary Howells 7'3" 2/2 3wt bamboo rod in excellent original condition. Serial #5319, made in 1986. Featuring medium tempered cane with 2x2 nodes and bright guides wrapped in chestnut brown windings & gold tipping. All sections are straight, full length and serialized. Overwrapped ferrules fit perfectly. Strap & ring hook keeper over 5.5" cork grip and cap & ring reel seat over cork spacer. The grip is smooth with just a hint of soiling. 2 3/8oz scripted weight, but my scale is closer to 2.6oz. Buttery smooth medium action, a perfect option for light line fishing and delicate presentations. A relatively scarce taper, with just over 100 examples produced during Howells' lifetime. Sold in the original bag and tube with makers data label.
