For sale here is a Gary Howells 7' 2/2 4wt bamboo rod. Good used condition, although one tip is ~1.5" short. The short tip looks like it broke at the ferrule, as the wraps line up from the tip down. #3771, made in Howells' first year of production for Anglers All. Medium tempered cane, chestnut windings with gold tipping, overwrapped at the guide feet. Ferrules fit perfectly, and both tips have minor fish fighting sets. Skeleton cork grip is soiled but smooth. Scripted weight is 2 5/8oz but my scale reads just a bit over that. Medium action, I think it's best with a DT4 but some may prefer the shorter tip with a DT5. Priced as a 1-tip rod, although the short tip is imminently fishable. Sold in the original bag and tube. Somewhat unusual, the data label is signed in pen "G.H. Howells - Rod Maker"
