Hoffhines, R.W. - 7'9" 2/2 5wt Penta Hollow Built Bamboo Fly Rod

For sale here is a 7'9" Penta, 2-piece / 2-tip 5wt bamboo rod from the bench of Rob Hoffhines, in new, unused condition. Hollow-fluted construction, serial no. 321, the rod weighs 4.16 oz. Tortoiseshell flamed cane and the varnish is perfect. Tips are marked "Dry" & "Nymph" and offer slightly different actions. Oxidized snake guides with beautiful agate stripper, wrapped in transparent olive silk with black tipping. Tip tops are marked for ease of rotation, and the Swiss-style ferrules fit perfectly. Varnished winding check complements the 6" modified wells grip very nicely, as does the blued cap and ring reel seat over a gorgeous burl wood spacer.
