For sale here is a pre-WWII Hardy Perfect 4" salmon reel in excellent original condition. RHW with nickel silver revolving line guard. Smooth alloy foot is unaltered (3.5" long) and the leaded finish is retaining nicely with normal wear to the rims and around the ivorine handle grasp. This is an early example of the mk II checkwork with roped tensioner and non-engageable spare pawl. The circular writing around the bright aluminum spindle boss reads "Hardy Bros. Ltd. Alnwick - Patent "Perfect" Reel". Tensioner works as intended with a stout check and fantastic range. Weight is 14.05oz, and the 4" is a nice size for heavier 2-handed rods. This transitional reel is in great shape and ready for the next 100 years! Sold in a modern neoprene Hardy pouch.
