Hardy - C.C. de France 8' 2/1 Palakona Bamboo Rod

For sale here is an early Hardy C.C. de France 8' 2/1 bamboo rod. Excellent restored condition. Originally made as a single tip rod, it features dark English twist guides and agatine stripping guide. Wraps are golden yellow with full intermediates. Spiral script at the base of the butt section appears to be original, although a previous owner added their name and model info just above the winding check. Agate tip-tip, spike ferrules and the female is fitted with a wooden ferrule plug. Ferrules fit perfectly and the sections are straight & full length. Skeleton cork grip & reel seat with Hardy's Universal Reel Holder hardware. Serial number on the butt cap is E30050, dating it to 1934. The cork is smooth with light soiling, and the rod weighs 4.09oz. Slow, full flexing action, it loads nicely with a WF5 line. The restoration is nicely done, and the rod remains in very fine condition. Sold in the original 2-compartment bag with a provision for the ferrule plug.
