For sale here is a 7'6" 2/2 5wt bamboo rod by George Guba, based on the Leonard model 39 taper. Excellent+ original condition, showing very little signs of use. Medium tempered cane with carboloy stripping guide and dark snake guides wrapped in crimson thread. Blued step-down ferrules fit perfectly and all sections are full length and straight. Slightly swelled butt with strap & ring hook keeper over blued winding check. 5.5" tapered cigar grip with blued NS cap and ring over mortised wood spacer. Weight is 3.55oz and the action is on the medium side of medium fast. I cast it with a DT5 but I suspect it would like a DT4 also. George Guba was well known for his restoration work and his excellent renditions of well known tapers from the legacy rod makers. This one is sold in the original tan bag with stiffener and brass capped tube.
