For sale here is a spectacular 8'3" 2/2 bamboo rod made by H.S. "Pinky" Gillum. Excellent original condition, featuring medium toned cane with Resorcinol glue lines, golden-bronze windings and black & gold accents at the ferrules. All sections are straight, full length & serialized (I-687). Blued Super-Z Ferrules fit perfectly, and the tips are wrapped for ease of rotation. The Perfection stripping guide has a slightly forward attitude, possibly from being lightly knocked on the tube edge at some point. 6.5" cork grip is smooth with light soiling, and the rod is fitted with Gillum's standard up-locking aluminum reel seat over a nicely figured African mahogany spacer. The screw collar retains the maker's stamp. Weight is 4.51oz. Medium fast action, a strong 6wt although some may prefer it with a DT7. A very fine example of Pinky Gillum's work.
