Serial #M-85-1, made in 1943. An unusual rod, the mid and both tips are marked \"209-M\" and have resorcinol glue lines, whereas the butt is simply marked \"209\" and was not made with resorcinol. My research leads me to believe the butt is original from 1943 and the mid\/tips were made by Everett Garrison at a later date, although I can't be sure. The rod appears to be at least partially restored, as the guide wraps have shadows extending ~1\" on either side, almost as if someone tried to preserve the original windings and left a wide margin of the original varnish. Ferrules are 11\/64 and 17\/64, and the butt\/mid ferrule needs to be reset. The sections are full length and serialized, and all script appears to be original and correct. The reel seat hardware is made of copper strapping, which can be seen on other war-time rods made by Mr. Garrison. Cork grip and reel seat is soiled with just a hint of ridging. Weight is 4.62oz, and the rod feels like it will comfortably cast a 5 or 6wt line. The bag and tube are both replacements.
