Edwards Quadrate - Model #40, 7' 2/2 4wt Quad Bamboo Rod

For sale here is a scarce Edwards Quadrate Model #40 7' 2/2 4wt bamboo rod in very good condition. All original except the stripping guide has been rewrapped. Medium flamed cane with dark guides wrapped in maroon, garnet & black silks. Blued ferrules fit perfectly and the sections are straight & full length. The butt is scripted in white ink "Edwards Quadrate - #40". U-shaped hook keeper, squared Bakelite winding check and skeleton cork grip & reel seat. The cork is smooth with light soiling, and the cap & ring hardware is blued. The butt cap is pinned to a Bakelite insert and over time a small (~1mm) gap has opened between the spacer and the cork. This appears to be cosmetic; everything seems quite secure. The varnish is in good shape throughout with a few small checks/scratches from honest use. Weight is 3.32oz. Pleasant medium fast action, best with a DT4. The 2-piece Quadrates make for some fantastic dry fly rods, and this 7-footer is a gem. Sold in what appears to be a replacement bag and the original tube.
