For sale here is an E.W. Edwards Special, 8' 3/2 5wt bamboo rod in excellent restored condition. Completely restored by Steve Blake, a Mt. Carmel-era rod featuring flamed bamboo, narrow snake guides and orange agate stripping guide. One tip top is all-metal and the other has a pale orange agate. Pongee & purple silk windings. Step-down ferrules fit perfectly, and all sections are straight & full length. Signature wraps of slightly increasing width towards the grip, and the butt has been re-scripted. 5.5" grip is smooth and clean and bounded by black Bakelite checks. All-nickel silver reel seat with slide band and the pocketed cap reads "E.W. Edwards & Sons - Makers - Mt. Carmel, Conn." Weight is 5.22oz. Action on the medium side of medium fast, a beautiful caster with a DT5. Sold in what looks like the original bag and tube, sans decal.
