For sale here is an 8' 3/2, 5-6wt Payne 201 taper from the bench of Jim Downes. Excellent+ used condition, featuring wheat straw colored cane with 3x3 nodes, dark snake guides and fine agate stripping guide. Wraps are hunter green with black tipping. Blued ferrules fit perfectly (10/64 & 15/64). All sections are full length, and both tips have very faint casting sweeps. 6" grip is smooth with a hint of soiling, and the rod is fitted with a blued cap & ring reel seat over spalted wood spacer. Weight is 4.2oz. Progressive, medium fast action. I prefer it with a DT5 but some may like it with a 6. A fine trout rod from Mr. Downes. Sold in the original bag and brass capped tube with maker's label affixed.
