I suspect the female ferrule is the culprit, and I think there's a reasonable expectation this may remedy itself if the rod spends some time in more humid climate (it has spent many years in Montana). 4 signature wraps on the butt section above Lyle Dickerson's distinct script. 6.5\" grip is smooth with light soiling, and the rod is fitted with Dickerson's standard down-locking reel seat over walnut spacer. Weight is 4.66oz. Medium fast action, it casts a WF6 beautifully. The varnish remains in nice condition with a few tiny nicks\/scratches from careful use over the years.
