Dickerson, Lyle - Model 8013, 8' 2/2 5wt Bamboo Rod

For sale here is a Lyle Dickerson 8013, 8' 2/2 5wt bamboo rod in excellent original condition. Made in 1962, the original owner's name is inked on the butt. Medium tempered cane with bright guides and brown windings with black tipping. 4 signature wraps above the butt script, and the writing remains clear and bold. Blued ferrules fit perfectly, and all sections are straight and full length. The actual rod length is 7'11", not 8'. Not an uncommon discrepancy in Dickerson's later rods, and this rod was clearly made that way. 6" grip is soiled with light ridging, and the rod is fitted with the standard aluminum down-locking reel seat over walnut spacer. Weight is 4.23oz. Medium fast, progressive action. It casts a DT5 quite nicely, a fabulous dry fly rod. One condition note: each tip top is pulling away slightly from its wraps. The next custodian of this wonderful Dickerson rod may wish to re-adhere the tip tops (this should be straightforward). Sold in the original foldover bag and what may be a replacement brass capped tube.
