Coyle, Jack - Model 596, 8' 5wt 2/2 Hollowbuilt Bamboo Rod

For sale here is an 8' 2-piece / 2-tip hollow built 5wt from the bench of Jack Coyle. Excellent+ used condition. Medium flamed cane with lightly oxidized snake guides and clear agate stripper wrapped in transparent brown silks with black tipping. Blued 13/64 step down ferrules fit perfectly and are the female is fitted with a machined aluminum ferrule plug. All sections are straight & full length, and the tips are marked for ease of rotation. 6" tapered cork grip with blued nickel silver cap & ring reel seat over mahogany spacer. The butt cap shows some minor bluing loss and the cork is slightly soiled from use. The finish is impeccable and the rod has been fished sparingly. Hollow built into the tips, the action is on the faster side of medium fast, a fantastic dry fly rod for either a DT5 or WF5. The rod is sold in the original bag and tube, with heavy canvas tube protector.

Jack is perhaps best known for his incredible restoration work, though he is a fantastic rod maker in his own right. A true craftsman, his rods are cherished by those who have received them. Very few of his rods have hit the open market, this one won't last long!
