Claudio, Ferdinand - 898B, 8'9" 2-piece 8wt Fiberglass Fly Rod

For sale here is a Ferdinand Claudio 8'9" 8wt, 2-piece fiberglass rod (model 898B) in excellent used condition. Mahogany brown blank with antique gold windings (double wrapped at the guide feet) and pale gold tipping. Machined aluminum reel seat and fine wood spacer. 7" western style cork grip is clean and smooth. Spigot ferrules are in perfect condition with 1/8" gap to allow for wear over time. The finish is excellent and shows only a few cosmetic scuffs/scratches. A strong 8wt, I find the action to be on the faster side of medium fast. In the Claudio brochure he advertised the 898 as both a heavy trout rod and a very light salmon/steelhead rod. It would be a fun rod to throw streamers with or even light saltwater work. Sold in original bag and replacement aluminum tube.
