For sale here is an 8'3" 5wt, 2-piece / 2-tip spliced joint quad bamboo rod made by Cris Carpenter. All sections straight & full length, and the rod remains in excellent+ used condition. Lightly tempered cane with bright guides wrapped in transparent caramel silks with dark brown accents. Hand rubbed finish give the rod a gorgeous matte look. Oxidized nickel silver winding check, 6" modified wells cork grip, nickel silver cap & ring reel seat over a mortised blonde burl spacer. The cork is clean and smooth, and the rod appears to have seen very little use. Weight is 3.94 oz. The fitment of the spliced joints is perfect, and they are witness marked for alignment while taping the sections. I have cast a few of Cris' spliced joint quads and they are absolutely delightful rods. This one is a strong 5wt with a wonderful medium-fast action. Spliced joints allow for the feel of a 1-piece rod without the logistical considerations. Sold with original cloth rod bag and brass capped aluminum tube with gold makers decal.
