For sale here is an 8' 3/2 5-6wt quad bamboo rod from the bench of C.W. "Sam" Carlson. Very good used condition, Carlson made a number of rods for Rosgen's sporting goods store and like all those rods this one simple reads "Bill Rosgen - Winsted Conn." on the butt. Medium flamed cane with oxidized guides and dark chestnut windings with black and gold tipping. All sections are straight and full length, and the ferrules fit perfectly (11/64 & 16/64). Squared winding check over 6.25" cork grip (soiled with a hint of ridging on a few rings). Up-locking reel seat over dark wood spacer and Bakelite butt cap. The rod recently returned from Dana Gray's (The Carlson Rod Co.) shop for a pit stop. The butt ferrule was reset, and the varnish was buffed out. Also, the bottom tube cap was split so Dana furnished a proper replacement. The rod has been looked over and it ready to hit the water. Overall weight is 5.18oz. Medium fast action, it handles a DT5 or DT6 nicely. Sold in the original bag and brass capped tube. From the collection of Thomas H. Clark.
