For sale here is a Mark Canfield "Carlton King" 7'10" 2/2 4wt bamboo rod in excellent used condition. Medium tempered cane with bookmatched tips, dark snake guides and Perfection stripper. Wraps are pale green with red, gold & variegated accents. Blued ferrules fit perfectly, and all sections are full length, straight & serialized (#475). Tips are marked for ease of rotation. 5.5" cork grip is smooth with light soiling, and the rod is fitted with blued nickel silver checks, cap & ring reel seat and an ancient western yellow cedar spacer. Canfield's stamps are present on the butt cap and tube cap. Weight is 3.91oz. Action on the medium side of medium fast, I find it best with a WF4, especially for shorter (trout distance) casts. The varnish remains near perfect, and the only sign of use is the light graying of the cork. Sold in the original bag with brass capped tube and custom tube protector.
