Made in 1998 when Per \u0026amp; Mario shared a shop space in El Cerrito, California. This rod is #1 of 2 collaborative \"4-5-6\" rods made by these makers, and it incorporates a hexagonal butt, pentagonal mid, a quad tip, a penta tip, and 2 hex tips. All sections are full length \u0026amp; serialized, and all are straight except one hex tip has a slight sweep (this should be easily correctible). Step-down ferrules fit perfectly, and the bluing remains nice and dark. Pale orange windings with red tipping, snake guides are lightly oxidized and the butt has a red agate stripper. 6\" grip retains the original paper, and the rod is fitted with a cap \u0026amp; ring reel seat over highly figured wood spacer. Weight is 3.8oz. A medium fast action 5wt, and each tip has its own subtly different character. An exceedingly rare offering from two masters of the craft.
