For sale here is an 8' 2-piece / 1-tip 3wt hollowbuilt bamboo rod made by Per Brandin. Excellent+ condition, the rod was used sparingly and well cared for. Based on E.C. Powell tapers, this rod utilizes a C-taper butt section and an A-taper tip. The result is a smooth casting, full working action that flexes well into the butt. The rod features oxidized snake guides and red agate stripping guide wrapped in the standard dark gold Powell threads with black & white accent above the grip. Both sections are straight and full length, and the semi-matte finish is reminiscent of the earliest E.C. Powell rods. Micro-Swiss ferrules fit perfectly, and the female is fitted with a micarta & cork ferrule plug. The 6" cork grip is clean and smooth. Blued cap & ring reel seat over dark walnut spacer and NS cork check. An interesting experimental taper from the maker, who also authored a book on the rods and life of E.C. Powell.
