For sale here is an outstanding 7'6" 5-piece / 2-tip presentation rod from the bench of Tim Abbott. A very limited run, 1 of 4 made by Tim to date (including the original "Leprechaun", featured in the Spring 2002 issue of Art of Angling Journal). Medium tempered cane with oxidized snake guides and red agate stripping guide. Wraps are transparent ochre with dark tipping. All sections are straight and full length, and the ferrules fit perfectly. Nickel silver winding/cork checks and cap & ring reel seat over dark wood spacer. 6" grip made of fine 1/8" cork rings. The rod is in superb condition, lawn cast only. A semi-parabolic 6wt, on the medium side of medium fast. The rod is such a smooth caster, a testament to Mr. Abbott's understanding of rod tapers (no small feat in a 5-piece rod!). Weight is 4.81oz. The rod is packed in a custom made presentation case made with walnut trim, French fit velvet and locking clasps of the maker's design. The fit and finish of the rod and case are absolutely perfect. From the personal collection of rodmaking legend Glenn Brackett.
