For sale here is a Chris Vance 8'6" 2/2 5wt hollow built bamboo rod in excellent used condition. Flamed cane with oil rubbed finish, 2x2 nodes and book-matched tips. Transparent chestnut windings with dark accents, and signature wraps at 18" and 20" from the butt. The butt has a nice swell with decorative wraps of increasing size towards the grip. All sections are full length & serialized (#218), and both tips have faint right-hand sweeps. Micro-Swiss ferrules fit perfectly, and the female is fitted with a bamboo & cork ferrule plug. 6" grip is smooth with light soiling, and the rod is fitted with a cap & ring reel seat over mahogany spacer. The hardware and ferrules show a bit of bluing loss; this one has seen some honest use but remains in excellent shape. Scripted and actual weight is 3.42oz. A snappy dry fly rod, fast action and light in the hand. The strongly swelled butt gives this taper nice backbone, an ideal 5wt for casting longer leaders in the wind. Sold in the original bag and brass capped tube with custom tube protector.
