For sale here is a Heddon Model #50, 8' 3-piece / 2-tip, 1 3/4F bamboo rod. Excellent condition, a very fine example of a post-classic era Deluxe President in one of the more desirable sizes. Moderately tempered cane with oxidized snake guides and carbide stripper wrapped in golden tan windings and forest green tipping. Step-down ferrules fit perfectly and all sections are straight and full length. The rod appears to have received a light overcoat at some point, and the varnish is in very good condition. Bold, original script reads "Heddon Deluxe President - #50 - 8' - 1 3/4F - HDH or E". Strap & ring hook keeper and black winding check over 6" cigar grip. The cork is clean and shows just the slightest bit of ridging. Down locking reel seat with nickel silver hardware and Tenite threads over Circassian walnut spacer. Medium fast dry fly action, I prefer it with a 5wt line, but it will cast a modern WF4 just fine. The higher grade Heddons can be spectacular rods, and this is a great example in a very fishable light trout configuration.
