Eden Cane (Bernard Ramanauskas) - Model 210Y, 7' 2/2 3wt Nodeless Bamboo Rod

For sale here is an Eden Cane model Y2103, 7' 2/2 3wt in near mint/lawn cast only condition. Nodeless construction, featuring caramel toned cane with dark snake guides and agate stripping guide wrapped in transparent windings with red accents. All sections are straight and full length, and the truncated Swiss ferrules fit perfectly. Tips are marked for ease of rotation. Blued slide band reel seat can be mounted as up-locking or down-locking. Curly Koa wood insert with accents of the same at the base of the grip and the winding check. 5" tapered cork grip is clean and smooth, and two decorative strips of bamboo are inlayed on the top of the grip. The varnish is pristine, and I can see just the faintest evidence that a reel was mounted at one time (hard to see without magnification). The aesthetics are perfect, and the rod has a lively action, on the faster side of medium fast. It casts a DT3 with ease and the rod feels at once lithe and powerful (the swelled butt helps). Total weight is 2.82oz. The rod come packed in the original bag and custom Arne Mason leather rod tube bearing the Eden Cane logo at the top. An amazing offering from Bernard Ramanauskas.

Notes on the Y series rods the maker: Originally designed for fishing "Yamame" (Japanese "Cherry Salmon"), these rods are equally at home on your favorite brook trout stream. Y series rods cast up close exceptionally well, making them perfect tight-quarters rods. They are the first choice for the most discriminating fanatic. The Y2103-2 is an elegant expression of the apex of our art, the perfect weapon for the dry-fly purist.
