For sale here is Bum Rod (Hidenobu Katake) 7'6" 3pc / single tip 3wt bamboo rod in excellent used condition. Utilizing Katake's "Deformed Hexagonal Construction", the rod is hollow built with 3 flats that are slightly smaller than the other 3, giving a modified triangular appearance. Guides are wrapped in chocolate brown windings with gold tipping. All sections are full length, straight and serialized (#513). Blued ferrules fit perfectly. 5.5" grip with blued cap & ring reel seat over dark mortised spacer. Weight is 2.61oz. Incredibly smooth, semi-parabolic action. It loads deep into the butt section with a DT3 line but has pleasantly fast recovery. An interesting rod from an innovative Japanese rod maker. Sold in the original bag and brass capped tube with maker's label affixed.
