Beaverhead Rods (Wayne Maca) - 8'2.5" 2/1 5wt Hollow Built Bamboo Rod

For sale here is a 250cm (8' 2.5") 2-piece, single tip 5wt rod made by Wayne Maca of Beaverhead rods. Excellent used condition, the rod features Wayne's innovative hollow building, carbon ferrules and powerful progressive taper. The cane is lightly tempered with chocolate brown windings and banded red agate stripping guide. 5 3/4" grip is smooth with light soiling, and the rod is fitted with a screw-lock reel seat over stabilized huckleberry spacer. Weight is 3.81oz. Wayne Maca is well known as a boundary pusher in the bamboo world, and his rods don't last long on the secondary market. This one is in great shape and is just begging to be fished. Sold in the original bag and tube. 

Notes on the taper, from the maker: When it comes to persnickety fish and lots of patience a rod that can deliver the right cast is of vital importance. This is the one. It's still powerful when compared to any conventional bamboo rod, and all the while possesses a gentle yet authoritative casting feel. Being slightly over 8' adds just the right inertial load to make this a sight fisherman’s dream. In slower waters with less manhandling of line needed this rod "rocks". Throwing a hard upstream mend is still no problem but it's usually unnecessary, because of the precise "lining out" and control this rod provides.
