For sale here is a rare Hardy brass faced Perfect 4 1/4" widespool fly reel in excellent original condition. Aluminum frame & spool with all-brass winding plate. The winding plate bears the straight-line logo and round Hardy Bros logo. Ivory handle spins freely and the smooth brass foot has been neatly filed on either end. Rim mounted tensioner with Turk's head locking nut. The reel is fitted with the 1896 check work with delightfully crisp resistance; this reel will sing! An unusual reel with completely solid spool; a rare feature and almost always found on these larger sized Perfects. A handsome Hardy salmon reel, ready to fish.
