Hardy - Perfect 3 7/8" Fly Reel - RHW, Pre-war

For sale here is a RHW Hardy Perfect, 3 7/8" fly reel in good used condition. RHW. A leaded reel with most of the finish worn to a dull gray patina. Roped tensioner, ebonite handle grasp and smokey agate line guard (the agate has 3 stable hairline cracks). A very light "K" is scratched into the spool and the brass spindle boss. The smooth brass foot appears to either be a replacement or a highly modified original. Overall length is 2.6" and there is some scratching around the rivets on the underside of the frame which has me leaning towards replacement. The rivets on the top of the foot are filled with some kind of adhesive or putty, but I suspect they will clean up easily. Mechanically the reel is faultless, and the tensioner offers a wide range of resistance. A very fishable reel, sold in an aftermarket Orvis pouch.
