Vom Hofe, Edward - Model 355 Peerless Fly Reel - Size 2

For sale here is a rare size 2 Edward vom Hofe Model 355 Peerless fly reel in excellent original condition. The reel size (2) is stamped on the foot and there is no serial number, dating this reel to the first few years of the 20th century. Nickel silver rims, foot and pillars with aluminum spool and brass spindle. Sliding oil port cover reads "Edward vom Hofe - Maker - Fulton St. NY". 2.8" diameter with a weight of 6.03oz. On/off clicker works as intended. Mechanically tight with a slightly RHW bias. The hard rubber side plates & handle grasp show a bit of sun fading. The screws are in good condition, and the reel foot is unmolested. The reel packs into a drawstring leather pouch. A fine example of the early 355 EvH Peerless, ready to fish or collect.
