Leonard, H.L. - Model 38, 7' 2/2, 4wt Bamboo Rod

For sale here is a Leonard Model 38, 7' 2-piece / 2-tip bamboo rod in excellent used condition. This is a post-fire rod with serial #1323. Lightly tempered cane with 3x3 nodes and dark guides. Windings are transparent gold with burgundy accents. All sections are straight and full length, and the 10/32 step-down ferrules fit perfectly. All sections are serialized, and a previous owner's name is marked on the lightly swelled butt. 5" grip is lightly soiled and smooth, and the rod is outfitted with a nickel silver cap & ring reel seat over mortised spacer. Weight is 2.68oz. Full flexing, medium action. It casts a DT4 nicely, although some may prefer it with a 3wt. Sold in the original bag with stiffener and brass capped tube. This rod was purchased used from the Leonard shop in 1977 and a facsimile of the sales receipt will be included.
