Heddon - Model #17 "Black Beauty" 8'6" 3/2 Bamboo Fly Rod

For sale here is an early Heddon #17 "Black Beauty" bamboo rod. 8'6" 3 piece, 2 tip for a #2 ferrule (Heddon's "Standard Trout" weight). The rod was masterfully restored by Mr. Don Schroeder and does not appear to have been fished post-restoration. Down locking screw lock reel seat, new 7" half wells cork grip, ring and strap hook keeper and black thread wraps throughout. "Heddon" in diagonal script indicating this rod is from Heddon's neo-classic period (1939-1948). This #17 pre-dates when they started writing "Black Beauty" on the rod. The data tag reads 4 3/4 oz but it's just shy of 5 1/4oz on my scale. This is a very desirable length and ferrule size for the Model #17. A great all around trout rod, this one has been completely restored and is ready to fish for years to come!
