Hardy - JJH Triumph 8'9" 3/2 5wt Bamboo Rod

For sale here is a Hardy JJH Triumph, 8'9" 3/2 5wt rod in very good original condition. Named in honor of champion trout and salmon fly caster J.J. Hardy, this rod features medium toned cane, olive intermediate wraps and snake guides wrapped maroon with crimson tipping. Agatine tip tops and stripping guide. Ferrules fit properly with ~3/16" gap between the shoulder of the male slides and the welts on the female ferrules. Both female ferrules are fitted with wood and cork ferrule plugs. All sections are straight & full length. Skeleton grip & reel seat with aluminum slide band and pocketed butt cap. The cork is smooth and appears to have been cleaned at some point, and the slide band is serialized #H9990 (made in 1956). Weight is just under 5oz. A few of the wraps show their age, but nothing that needs immediate attention. Action on the medium side of medium fast, I expected it would be most comfortable with a 6wt but I prefer a WF5. A classic Hardy Palakona in original condition, sold in the original bag with aftermarket aluminum tube.
