For sale here is a spectacular C.W. "Sam" Carlson 7'6" 2/2 4wt quad bamboo rod. Near mint/lawn cast only. Medium flamed cane with staggered nodes and blued ferrules & hardware. Snake guide and carbide stripper are wrapped in crimson windings with black accents. Squared ferrules fit perfectly, and all sections are straight, full length & serialized (#806). 6" cork grip & reel seat spacer are smooth and bright. Black Bakelite winding check, cork check & butt cap are in perfect shape, and the base of the reel seat spacer is made of a dark Pakkawood insert. Reel seat hardware retains its dark bluing, except for one tiny spot (2mm>) on the band. Weight is 3.73oz. A progressive taper with what feels like medium fast action. The butt script remains clear and crisp: "Carlson Four - 806-4752 - C.W. 'Sam' Carlson Maker". This is as fine an example as you could hope to find, a worthy addition to any collection of bamboo rods. Sold in the original bag and tube.
