Akaike, Masa - 8'6 2/2 5wt Bamboo Rod

For sale here is an 8'6" 2-piece / 2-tip 5wt bamboo rod from the bench of Masa Akaike. Excellent used condition, serial #031. Blonde Madake cane with bright guides wrapped in light umber silks. All sections are straight, full length & serialized, and the tips are numbered for ease of rotation. 6.5" cork grip with cap & ring reel seat over burl spacer. The cork is smooth with light soiling, and the rod looks like it has seen limited use. Hand rubbed oil finish, which suites the Japanese Madake cane nicely. Weight is 3.93oz. Action on the medium side of medium fast. A fine dry fly rod with enough power to cut through the wind. Sold in the original bag and tube with canvas tube protector.
