Winston, R.L. - 8'3" 2/1, 3 3/4oz (4/5wt) Bamboo Rod

For sale here is a SF-era Winston 8'3" 2-piece / single tip 3 3/4oz (4-5wt) bamboo rod in good used condition. #8272, made in 1959 for Andre Puyan's first wife, Sarah Puyans. Medium tempered cane with bright guides wrapped in golden tan windings and burgundy accents. The guides are secure, but some of the wraps are looking thirsty; most would benefit from a light overcoat. Overwrapped Duronz ferrules fit perfectly. Both sections are full length and repair-free, and the tip has a slight fish-fighting set in the upper half. 6" grip is soiled & smooth, and the rod is fitted with Winston's standard down-locking reel seat over Bakelite spacer. Hollow-fluted construction, scripted weight is 3 3/4oz but my scale reads a hair under that. Nice with a DT4 or 5. Sold in the original bag and tube with partial label.
