Winston, R.L. - 8' 2/2 5wt (3 3/4oz) Bamboo Rod

For sale here is an R.L. Winston 8' 2/2 5wt bamboo rod in excellent used condition. Serial #1631, made by Tom Morgan and Glenn Brackett in San Francisco just prior to the move to Twin Bridges. Medium tempered cane with bright guides and putty colored wraps. Ferrules fit perfectly, and all sections are straight, full length & serialized. 6" grip is smooth with light soiling, and the rod is fitted with a down-locking reel seat over fine wood spacer. Scripted weight is 3 3/4oz but my scale reels just under at 3.61oz. Action on the medium side of medium fast, the rod flexes well into the butt section with a DT5 but recovers quickly (I'm sure the hollow-fluted construction helps here). A fine Winston trout rod, all the script is in Tom Morgan's neat handwriting. Sold in what looks like a replacement green bag and the original Cal-Air tube.
