For sale here is an Orvis 8'6" 2-piece / 2-tip 6wt 'Limestone Special' in mint condition. Serial #83211, made in 1979. Medium tempered, impregnated cane. Bright guides wrapped in dark brown windings with a high bridge carbide stripping guide. Sections are full length, straight and serialized. Ferrules fit perfectly. Scripted weight is 4.5oz, but my scale reads 4.65oz. Strap & ring hook keeper, 6.5" cork grip is clean & smooth and the rod is fitted with a down-locking aluminum reel seat over walnut spacer. I see no evidence the rod was ever used. Action is on the medium side of medium fast, rated as a 6wt but most will prefer it with a WF5 line. A popular taper and a nice all-around trout rod. Sold in the original bag and tube with silver & green data label.
