Yudai Mochizuki - 7'6" 2/2 4wt Special Edition Bamboo Rod

For sale here is a Special Edition 7'6" 2/2 4wt, semi-hollow rod from the workshop of Yudai Mochizuki. This is a new rod from the maker, made using Japanese cane, the color is blonde and the guides are lightly oxidized with agate stripping guide. Pale brown silk windings and a black signature at 11.9" (1 Shaku) from the butt. Truncated Swiss ferrules fit perfectly, and the female is fitted with a wood & cork ferrule plug. The grip is made from wild Monarch birch bark rings and has a light oil finish. Blued cap & ring reel seat over Honduran rosewood spacer. Weight is 3.84oz. The degree of hollowing is graduated from butt to tip, meant to mimic the natural structure of the bamboo. Action is on the faster side of medium fast, I have carefully cast this rod, and I like it with a WF4. An impressive offering from Yudai, the rod comes with an owner's guidebook, rod grippers and a vial of varnish for touchups. The package is completed by a custom aluminum tube with cork closure and outer tube protector.
