Wright & McGill / Granger - Model 7030 Aristocrat, 7' 2/2 4wt - Refinished

For sale here is a refinished W&M Granger Aristocrat 7030, 7' 2-piece / 2-tip 4wt bamboo rod. All sections are straight and full length, and the cane appears to be original. The Granger ferrules are also original, and the fit is good. One tip is in decent original condition, save for a few spots where the varnish is cracking, and the tip top is deformed. The other tip and the butt section were refinished in variegated threads and wind-away signature wraps on the butt section. The guides and tip-top on the non-original tip are all replacements and the largest stripping guide on the butt section shows significant wear. The butt is slightly swelled and stamped "Wright & McGill" & "Granger Aristocrat" in bold script. 6.5" elliptical handle is slightly soiled but smooth, and the patented reel seat works as intended, although there is a machine screw going through the back of the reel seat (see photos). The rod is packed in the original bag and tube with damaged label. The 7030 is a sought-after taper, and while this rod is far from original, it remains a fine casting 4wt. It could be fished as-is, or it seems like a good candidate for restoration. From the collection of Thomas H. Clark.
