Winston, R.L. - 7' 2/2, 2 3/4oz (3wt) Bamboo Fly Rod

For sale here is a SF-era 7' for a 3wt, 2-piece / 2-tip Winston bamboo rod. Serial no. 9621, built in 1969 at the end of Gary Howell's tenure with Winston. Very good used condition, though one tip is down 7" and the full length tip has a very slight droop in the last 12". Scripted weight is 2 3/4oz and my scale matches precisely. Putty colored wraps with oxblood accents. Carboloy stripping guide, strap & ring hook keeper and skeleton cork grip with aluminum hood and slide band. Action is medium and it casts a DT3 quite nicely. A nice Merrick-era Winston in a scarce light line configuration. Sold in original red cloth rod sock and aluminum tube with ~50% label.
