Winston - pre-IM6 8'6" 5wt , 2-pc Graphite Rod

For sale here is a Winston pre-IM6 8'6" 2-pc 5wt graphite rod in very good used condition. Serial #1259, this is an early rod built by J. Kennedy Fisher. Built on a sanded deep green black with bright guides wrapped in dark green windings. Spigot ferrules fit perfectly with a gap to allow for wear, and each section is serialized. Gold trophy cup logo on the butt between the grip and the stripping guide. U-shaped hook keeper, nickel silver winding check and 6.5" cork grip. Down-locking aluminum reel seat over dark wood spacer. Very good condition throughout, the only condition notes I have are that the varnish on the two guides closest to the ferrules is just starting to crack, and the thread wrap at the hook keep is fraying very slightly. Neither of these require immediate attention, but they are worth mentioning. The action is medium fast, especially compared to Winston's modern offerings. A really nice vintage 5wt. Sold in the original lime green bag and tube with beige Winston decal.
