For sale here is a Thomas & Thomas 'Sextant' 8'3" 2/2 8wt bamboo saltwater rod in near mint condition. Serial #5830, it appears to be lawn cast only. The cane has light tiger striped flaming & matte finish, hunter green windings and nickel silver step-down ferrules. Everything about this rod was purpose built for the salt. All sections are full length and dead straight, and the bright ferrules fit perfectly (the female has a nickel silver & cork ferrule plug). Oversized snake guides and ceramic stripping guides. A swelled butt leads into the 7" full wells grip (bright & smooth), and the rod is fitted with a milled aluminum, salt-safe reel seat with fixed cork fighting butt. Weight is 7.04oz. Crisp & powerful, a fast action 8wt that gives me visions of being on the front of a flats boat. A gorgeous example of T&T's lauded Sextant series rods. Sold in the original bag with stiffener and brass capped tube.
