Thomas & Thomas - Kosmic Commemorative 8'6" 3/2 5wt Bamboo Rod

For sale here is a stunning Thomas & Thomas 'Kosmic Commemorative' limited edition bamboo rod in excellent+ condition. In the early days at T&T a series of annual limited-edition rods was released. This Kosmic Commemorative was the 1984 offering and it pays tribute to the Kosmic rods produced by Thomas, Edwards & Payne in the late 1800's. 8'6", 3-piece /3-tip and rated for a 5wt line. Wheat straw colored cane with a gentle swelled butt and Chinese red silk windings. Full intermediate wraps, bright bell-shaped ferrules and high gloss varnished finish. All sections are straight, full length & serialized (#7 of 25). Ferrules fit perfectly. 5.5" cork grip is made of hand-cut 1/4" rings and remains bright and smooth. The rod is fitted with a beautiful reproduction of the original Landman design ivoroid reel seat with nickel silver hardware. The butt cap retains the T&T stamping, and the series number (#7) is engraved on the base. There's a good chance the rod has never even been cast, but the varnish on a few of the guide wraps and intermediate wraps is cracked or flaking off. The choice of leaving it alone or overcoating the wraps is one for the next custodian of this spectacular rod. Weight is 6.17oz, and the rod has a medium, progressive action. One of the more spectacular T&T Heritage Limited Edition rods, this one packs into the original bag and brass capped black aluminum tube.
