For sale here is a Thomas & Thomas 6'6" 2/2 3wt 'Caenis' bamboo rod in excellent used condition. Serial #2819, this is an impregnated model made when Tom Maxwell & Tom Dorsey were at the helm. Medium tempered cane with dark snake guides and carbide stripping guide. Wraps are dark red with yellow & black accents. All sections are straight, full length & serialized, and the tips are marked for ease of rotation. Ferrules fit perfectly. Script on the butt is written in Maxwell's distinct handwriting, and a previous owner's name is written further up on the butt. Strap & ring hook keeper, nickel silver winding check and all-cork grip & reel seat. The cork is smooth with just a hint of soiling and a darker mounting rind just above the flatted cork. Weight is 2.29oz. Medium action with delicate tips, an excellent choice for small streams and small flies. Sold in the original bag w/ stiffener and brass capped tube.
