For sale here is a 7'3" 2/2 4wt "Flametone" bamboo rod from the bench of Bob Taylor. Excellent used condition, the rod features medium flamed cane with 2-opposed node work. Dark snake guides and agate stripping guide wrapped in bronze windings with red tipping. All sections are straight, full length and serialized (#310). 12/64 ferrules fit perfectly. Strap & ring hook keeper, 5.5" cork grip (clean & smooth) and cap & ring reel seat over fine wood spacer. The R.D. Taylor roll stamp is clean and crisp on the butt cap. All the nickel silver hardware is blued, and the bluing remains quite dark. Weight is 3.42oz. Medium action with fine tips. A sublime caster with a DT4. Bob's rods are deeply rooted in the Catskill tradition, and his finishes are excellent. Sold in the original bag and brass capped tube with makers decal affixed.
