For sale here is an 8' 3/2 5wt hollow built quad bamboo rod from the bench of Mike Spittler. Excellent used condition, serial #395. Medium flamed cane with bright snake guides and carbide stripping guide. Wraps are crimson red with black tipping. The wraps at the ferrules have light cracks in the varnish; purely cosmetic. All sections are full length and free of repairs, and both tips have slight fish fighting sets. Ferrules fit perfectly with small gaps to allow for wear (made this way), and the females are fitted with turned aluminum & cork ferrule plugs. 6" cork grip is smooth with light soiling, and the rod is fitted with an aluminum up-locking reel seat over dark wood spacer. Black composite butt cap with matching squared winding check below the hook keeper. Weight is 5.11oz. Smooth, medium fast action, best with a DT5. Mr. Spittler is known for his fantastic quad rods, and this is a very nice example of his work. Sold in the original bag and tube.
