For sale here is a Sage Model 505L fly reel with spare spool. Made in England by Hardy and closely modeled after Hardy's JLH series, Sage commissioned a run of these reels in the 1990's. The 505L is a versatile size for most trout fishing, ideal with 4-6wt lines. The reel features a fully ported frame and spool, palming rim and reversible nickel silver line guard for RHW or LHW fishing (currently set RHW). Alloy foot and strong adjustable click & pawl check. Good used condition, the reel has some mounting marks to the foot and some scuffs/scratched to the rims (the spare spool is a bit cleaner). The frame has a small ding with a larger area of finish loss near the bottom pillar (see photos). One spool comes loaded with line and backing, the other with backing only. These reels have become quite desirable, and they pair well with both classic and modern rods. 3 3/16" diameter frame with a weight of 4.25oz. Capacity is for a DT5 + 50yds.
