For sale here is a Paul H. Young Perfectionist 7'6" 2/2 5wt bamboo rod in excellent+ original condition. Serial #4513, made in 1970 by Bob Summers. Dark flamed cane with dark guides wrapped in color preserved gold windings. Truncated Swiss ferrules are blued and fit perfectly. All sections are straight, full length & serialized. Bent loop hook keeper and all-cork grip & reel seat with dual slide bands. The cork is clean and smooth and the blacked slide bands have a hint of finish loss at the knurl. Scripted weight is 2 1/2oz but my scale reads 2 7/8oz. A very clean rod, it has been lawn cast and may have been fished a day or two, but it looks nearly new. Many PHY Perfectionists straddle the line between 4wt & 5wt, this one is comfortably in the latter category. It's also a bit more parabolic that I'm used to seeing in this taper. The result is quite nice; it's got some power and nearly casts itself with a WF5. Sold in the original bag and Champion tube.
