For sale here is an Orvis "Far & Fine" 7'6" 2-piece / 2-tip 5wt bamboo rod. Serial #89237, made in 1999 or 2000. Excellent+ condition, lawn cast only. Featuring straw colored impregnated cane, bright guides wrapped in honey colored silk with mahogany tipping, and bright NS ferrules. All sections are straight and full length, and the 12/64 ferrules fit perfectly. 6.5" Western grip is smooth and clean. Nickel silver up-locking reel seat over mortised blonde burl spacer. Weight is 4 3/8oz (scripted & actual). The Far & Fine is a legendary taper for Orvis, and it remains one of the best trout rods produced by the company. Many Orvis cane rods seem to prefer 1 line weight under what they call for, but I find this rod to be a true 5wt. Medium action, but rather lively. A terrific all-around dry fly rod.
