For sale here is an Orvis Impregnated Deluxe 6'6" 2-piece / 2-tip bamboo rod in excellent used condition. Built on a medium tempered impregnated blank, serial #19802, made in 1956. Dark snake guides wrapped in dark caramel windings. All sections are straight, full length & serialized. 11/64 ferrules are blued, and the fit is perfect. The script on the butt reads "Orvis Impregnated - Deluxe" and the script remains clear and bold. 4" superfine grip with dual slide band reel seat over cork. The grip is smooth with light soiling, and the reel seat cork has some light marring where the slide bands dug in. Weight is 2.2oz. The only condition note is that the snake guide closest to the ferrule one on tip looks like it was replaced. It looks like the work was done a long time ago, and it's possible the replacement was done by Orvis at the rod shop in VT. The action is medium fast, and it is best with a DT5, despite being rated as a 6wt. Sold in original bag and black aluminum tube with mostly intact data label.
